What do you guy's think of the saying "Mud is thicker than water"?

I got the saying from this interview my favorite youtuber was doing and he was interviewing this guy who cousin who had lived with him in the same house for years had ordered a hit on him and my youtuber asked him this question and he replied with something like "Mud is thicker than water" and for some reason that spoke loudly to me and I just want to know what you guys think of it.

It is a total fact, but NOTHING to do with a well known saying!

The saying is "Blood is thicker than water", meaning your relatives are more important to you than other people.
