We were talking about this guy that likes me and I said to my friend "I don't even get why he likes me, I'm surprised he dosen't like Chanelle (this other girl at school.)" Then my friend said "Because he goes for the Barbie doll type and you're practically a Barbie doll.." The thing is, Im nothing like a Barbie, I have dirty blond hair, green eyes, I only wear mascara and foundation because of my bad skin. Is it insulting if someone calls you a Barbie Doll, because I get that a lot?

In my opinion, that would be a compliment. Barbie dolls are considered beautiful, stylish, voluptous, and very desirable. Be careful though, they're also the kind guys like to "hit on".

Relax, she paid you a compliment.

It can either be an insult or a complement. When I say it I usually mean it as a complement and I think so does your friend. When my guy friends say it referring to a girl, they usually mean it as an insult. I'm sure your friend didn't mean any harm.
