my friend and i traded presents today and she looked visibly disappointed with mine. i asked her if it was okay and she said she wasnt a fan of either part of it. it kind of ruined my day that i spent the time and everything trying to find her something i thought she'd like. is this normal for people to do???

If one had all the facts.........could answer easier............she wasn't a fair of either of what?

From now on consult with her family to find ideas for her next gift........good luck....

uh no? that was rude of her. i mean i see she was upset and all but christmas isn't about the gift its about the thought and meaning of it. she was looking at the materialistic side of it. not the thought you had put in to it, which I'm sure was great.

no, she should have smiled and said she loved it. So next year ask her what she wants

Yes of course the polite thing for her to do would have been to give an answer that would make you feel good.

That being said, you didn't ask because you wanted the truth. You asked because you wanted her to reassure you that she loved the gift. Since when is giving a gift all about you? Just food for thought...

If you don't want the answer, don't ask the question.

lol she should be grateful that someone put in the time and effort to give her something. it shows that you care.

She was a bit rude, next time give her a gift card to a place your friend frequently visits. Much easier in my opinion.
