who is at fault here (me or my friend)?

bob=male friend, joe=guy i like who likes me
okay well today bob, who jokes around alot told me that joe said to him i sent him a dirty picture. bob acted completely serious while he was telling me this and when i denied it bob said i was just playing dumb. so i got mad because i thought joe was actually saying this to bob, and who knows who else. i texted joe and asked him why he would tell bob i sent him a dirty picture but joe denied it and said bob was lying. so joe texted bob and asked him why he was talking bullshit and bob then got mad at me for confronting joe about saying that. bob went off on me in class saying i s houldnt have said anything to joe and that im at fault and i cant take a joke. yet he acted completely serious the whole time and i can usually tell when he is joking. but now bob hates me and says all this is my fault and i talk **** too much and joe is upset because he thinks i dont trust him. so tell me, who do you think is at fault (me or bob) and why?

It doesn't matter who's fault it is, because then people can hold grudges. Just don't act offensive, talk to bob and joe and tell them it was seriously a big misunderstanding, and it really was. Tell bob you didn't want to snitch on him, you honestly thought joe was spreading rumors. And tell joe you trust him, relax, and tell him you'd misunderstood bob.

Maybe bob should learn to crack a better joke. Obviously if he saw you weren't smiling or laughing, he should've taken it back and cleared the air. It would've saved a lot of unnecessary arguments.

Bob is. Any sane person would want to clear up that situation by confronting the person saying you sent them a dirty picture when you didn't. That was very mean of him, joking or not, and he should have known that you would react that way. If that's how he is going to be, he doesn't sound like much of a friend.

I think its bob's fault because clearly he is just messing everyone up and messing lies up and all that crap. Also I think you should set "bob" straight and tell him how you feel and the truth. hope this helps
