I'm a 14 year old girl. I've been friends with my group of friends for like, a solid year and a half, and they're great and I trust them notated what. It's summer break right now, and everyone's having sleepovers and stuff. Now this sounds so stupid, but my mom doesn't let me go to sleepovers! She doesn't even give a reason, it's always "we're just not allowed to." Like I said, I'm 14 years old and I'll be a freshman in high school. I try to compromise with my mom sometimes, but I don't even know how cause I don't even know what bothers her about sleepovers! Yes, I know that sometimes there are rape cases and sexual abuse and stuff but teens my age go all the time anyways! And those situations can happen anywhere.

So what do you think: do you think the way my mom is acting is fair? Should I be allowed to go to sleepovers? It frustrates me because it feels like EVERYONE just sleeps over at their friends house, right? My parents act like its some big huge thing.
Also, what can I do to convince her? I've already tried everything.. But idk. I just want to hear an outside opinion. If you read this thank you so much(:

I know you might say, "THESE ARE MY BEST FRIENDS!"

but you don't know anyone. I know someone who was over at her best friends', and they went to her uncle's or somewhere, and he raped her.

You have to realize anything could happen.

Doesn't mean it'll happen to you, but your mom doesn't want to take chances.

If you really want to go, have your friends mom come over and meet your mom.
