The thing is, I don't have the money for a TV set and even the most basic form of cable. I especially don't have enough money for systems and all the games available. I'm at the limit as it is with my spending and saving for graduate school. Regardless of the prices, I doubt I even have time in between full time school, work, exercise, and other activities. I don't even have a TV and my grades are horrible/mediocre as it is. If I wasted more time on TV, I would probably get kicked out of my university altogether. However I just feel totally out of touch with all my fellow students and coworkers. Did I mention I also have very different tastes in music than them, and I don't really even follow who is the popular musicians these days. My passion is archaeology, physics, biology, the few science fiction shows I can watch online, folk rock, jazz, gypsy swing, history, and doing crafty things with a computer router. Basically put, I have nothing in common with anyone I know. And I'm not too interested in hanging out with the type of people that do have the same interests as me, because most of them usually have some major personality issues. (Not that I don't myself, but I'm pretty good at keeping them under wraps, and I'm still generally pretty well adjusted.)
Must I get a TV and waste more time in my life to simply get a grip on what's popular so I can make friends?
