Is it wrong or fun and okay to catcall girls?

I mean stuff like randomly saying to a group of girls you walk past, "My, myyyy! :) Lookin good!"

Personally I see it as fun, if it's done jokingly, but if you're a rapist like then fck no. lol

When me and my friends are walking down Steveston park (where we were yesterday) they started jokingly catcalling the girls, and I got a little shy cuz it seemed kinda stupid and like we were a bunch of lowlives (maybe that's what women think when they get catcalled).

But personally I think there's nothing wrong with it. No one's being rude, no one's being raped and it's all in good fun. Only thing is it made me embarrassed.

I'm 18 if it matters.

I think it can be a bit intimidating for a girl if a group of guys started calling stuff out to her, even if you mean well. Keep your flirting to girls that you know who wont be scared of you or think that you're being rude or sexist.



Girls like to be complimented, but only if you're good looking. If you're ugly it is harassment.

Saying things like 'hey beautiful' or 'looking good today' I personally think is okay and it might boost a girls confidence (depending on the girl) but I think it crosses the line when it starts getting to things like 'nice ****, want to ****?' that is not okay and is down right rude. the first time i was catcalled, i was walking down the street and a group of guys drove past and one of then stuck their head out the window and said 'we can **** all night, just you and me babe.' considering i was 13 and the guys looked about 19 or 20 i was terrified and it made me feel really uncomfortable, so i think it also depends on the age gap because it can make it seriously pervy and make the girl feel attacked. but never be afraid to compliment a girl, it can really brighten their day :)

Personally, I think it's a little creepy (even though you say you're not a rapist, they don't know that). Some girls get more confidence if you catcall them, but some won't date you because you seem like a player.
